Another Successful Student Placement!

Nomad works closely with various education providers to enable students to complete their placements with us, allowing them to gain the skills and experience needed for their courses. Most students who attend placements with us are studying topics related to the health and social care sector.

Our most recent student Tanya wanted to share her experience with you.

‘My name is Tanya and I’m currently a college student studying health and social care. On my journey to complete this course I needed to go on a 5-week placement. This is where I got in contact with Nomad and they offered me a placement.

From day one the staff have been so welcoming and friendly and it’s been great getting to know each of their job roles and how they work so well in a team. This placement has allowed me to develop my skills in communication, teamwork and organisation, which are all valuable assets for both my academic studies and professional career later in life.

It’s enabled me to develop the ability to deal with paperwork and looking into people’s needs and work out issues on how they can be supported.

Working at Nomad has been one of the best experiences and so eye-opening seeing the type of people they work with. The service users themselves were so friendly and welcoming to me observing the assessments/check ins that took place.

It was great to see how the Nomad staff do so much for their service users and are always there to help support them when needs be. I would like to say a massive thankyou to everyone at Nomad for helping me along the way.’

Tanya instantly became part of the team here at Nomad. She worked extremely hard alongside the team to house numerous people who were struggling with homelessness. Tanya threw herself into her work and really became an asset to the team. Everyone here at Nomad would like to say a massive thankyou for all her hard work!
