Building Confidence to Find Employment

Although many job opportunities have dropped off during lockdown, some exciting partnerships are still forming to help get those most in need into employment. The Endorphins Group, Nomad Opening Doors and Engie have partnered together to support people who are facing homelessness to become happy, healthy, and more employable.

This partnership will allow Nomad’s clients to take part in Endorphins’ 6 session Step Ahead programme. People who access the programme will learn to become more confident, to manage their stress & anxiety and ultimately enhance their employability.

Karl Wilson of The Endorphins Group said “We are very excited about this partnership; The Endorphins Group are fully focused on helping customers to be healthy and happy. Our aim is to improve the mental and emotional health of those customers we work with. Our programme supports those with anxiety, low-moods, depression, and despair, to feel confident and find their voices again. They are able to change “I can’t” into “I can”; find their passion and purpose in employment and independent living.”

Engie is a leading Energy and services company who are committed to help find employment for those who are further away from the job market. Kerri White (Social Values Officer for South Yorkshire) will offer each candidate a mock interview and the opportunity of a work placement. Engie are an ideal partner for Nomad, as they can offer employment in Construction, Office Admin, Quantity Surveying and Marketing, following a successful application.

“This is a great opportunity for our clients, often what stops them applying for roles is their anxiety and self-confidence. With the Endorphins course they can learn coping techniques and Kerri can support them through the application process at Engie. We have high hopes that this opportunity will provide lasting change for our tenants.” Laura Baker, Corporate Partnerships at Nomad.
